Finding Aids

Finding Aids are compilations designed to help the reader access the CFR content via relationships, such as Authority or Subject Index terms.

The Subject Index consists of the following topic associations for rules currently codified in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and is updated each Federal business day.

The indexing terms are derived from the List of Subjects section of the Federal Register rule documents that amend the CFR.

The subject terms can be displayed by topic or by title. For document drafting purposes, the Thesaurus of Indexing Terms is available here.
