Subscribe to eCFR Changes
You can subscribe to receive email updates when eCFR content changes. Your subscriptions can target any level of the eCFR hierarchy from individual sections and appendixes up to entire titles, or to all changes made to content of a particular agency, or even to the results of specific searches. Let’s see how:
First, if you don’t have a My Federal Register account you will need to create one. Follow the instructions for Creating an Account. To receive subscription email it is very important that you complete the final step of checking your email and clicking the link confirming that your email is correct.
From Content Pages
Next, decide what you want to be notified about. Let’s be concrete and assume you want to subscribe to all changes 49 CFR 573. if you visit 49 CFR 573 you will see a subscribe button in the sidebar with an envelope as its icon. If your sidebar is collapsed, you will only see the icon as in the second screenshot.
Once you click on the icon, you’ll see a pane with a link to subscribe.
After clicking on “Subscribe,” you will see a page that confirms your subscription:
Repeat this for any other content of eCFR.
From Recent Changes
If you wish to subscribe to all changes in eCFR, navigate to the Recent Changes page. There you’ll find a “Subscribe” button. Clicking that button will display a modal asking if you wish to “Subscribe via Email.”
You can also chose to limit your subscription to all changes for a title, an agency, or both, by using the filters on that page. Note that once you have changed the filters, you will need to click “Search” before you can “Subscribe.”
From Search Pages
Finally, you can also subscribe to a particular search. If you are interested in changes that use the phrase “Income Tax” you can search for that phrase, and then “Subscribe.” This search can also be limited to a particular eCFR title, agency or both.
