§ 553.1 What is the purpose of this part?

This part establishes the requirements for demonstrating Oil Spill Financial Responsibility for covered offshore facilities (COF), sets forth the procedures for claims against COF guarantors, and sets forth the limit of liability for offshore facilities, as adjusted, un der Title I of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990, as amended, 33 U.S.C. 2701 et seq. (OPA).
