Subpart A—Special Anchorage Areas


§110.6   Portland Harbor, Portland, Maine (between Little Diamond Island and Great Diamond Island).

Beginning at the southeasterly corner of the wharf, at the most southerly point of Great Diamond Island at latitude 43°4013, longitude 70°1200; thence extending southwesterly to the northeasterly corner of the wharf on the easterly side of Little Diamond Island at latitude 43°4003, longitude 70°1215; thence extending along the northerly side of the wharf to its shoreward end at latitude 43°4003, longitude 70°1217; thence extending along the shoreline of Little Diamond Island to latitude 43°4011, longitude 70°1220; thence extending northeasterly to the shoreline of the southerly side of Great Diamond Island at latitude 43°4021, longitude 70°1206; thence extending along the shoreline of Great Diamond Island to the shoreward end of a wharf at latitude 43°4015, longitude 70°1202; thence extending along the southwesterly side of the wharf to the point of beginning.

Note: The area is principally for use by yachts and other recreational craft. Temporary floats or buoys for marking anchors will be allowed. Fixed mooring piles or stakes are prohibited. The anchoring of vessels and placing of temporary moorings will be under the jurisdiction, and at the discretion of the local Harbor Master. All moorings shall be so placed that no moored vessels will extend beyond the limit of the area.
